LAST GAME: Chattanooga, Tenn. - The Jackson Generals, the Double-A affiliate of Major League Baseball's Arizona Diamondbacks, lowered the boom on the Chattanooga bullpen on Friday evening, pounding the Lookouts' relief corps in an 8-0 shutout victory at AT&T Field. Jackson (67-48) earned their 13th shutout victory in the process and took a 2-1 series lead against Chattanooga (52-64) with the help of six runs scored across the eighth and ninth innings.

TODAY'S PITCHING MATCHUP: The Generals will go for the series victory with J.B. Bukauskas on the mound. Bukauskas impressed by striking out eight batters in his first start for the Generals last Sunday, but he lasted only 3 1/3 innings. He's only completed seven innings once as a pro (in 2018), but his bat-missing slider has helped him put up a high strikeout total this year (106) even while allowing an untenable number of walks (56). He squares off with left-hander Reiver Sanmartin, who pitched well in his previous start against Jackson on July 7 (6.0 IP, 2 ER). Sanmartin is coming off his first scoreless start of the year, holding Montgomery in check last week over 5 2/3 innings.

WELCOME BACK: Jackson utility man Ryan Grotjohn was recalled from High-A Visalia on Friday, going 1-for-5 while scoring a run from the leadoff spot and playing center field. Grotjohn batted .262 at A+ since being demoted on July 22.

ALL-STAR 2020: On July 29, the Jackson Generals announced that they would play host to the 2020 Southern League All-Star Game at The Ballpark at Jackson, their first All-Star Game since 2011.
