FLINT, MI - The Flint Generals of the International Hockey League (IHL) announced the signing of five more players who will be joining the team for Training Camp next month.

Right Winger Tyler Willis, native of Princeton, B.C., was drafted in the 8th round of the 1995 Entry Draft by the Vancouver Canucks. Willis' career has spanned the WHL, ECHL, AHL and IHL. He spent the past six seasons with the Kalamazoo Wings (now part of the ECHL) where he racked up 67 goals, 168 assists and 1403 PIMs (penalty in minutes) in 326 games. The Generals acquired his rights from Quad City earlier this month in a trade for the rights of Joel Gasper.

Craig Cescon, defenseman from Mississauga, ONT, has spent much of the last six years playing for the Ontario Hockey League winning the Robertson Cup for the OHL Championship in 2005-06 with the Peterborough Petes. Craig spent the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL where he racked up 3 goals, 3 assists and 195 PIMs in 63 games. Head Coach Jason Muzzatti says both Willis and Cescon "will bring toughness to our lineup."

Jake Pence is a defenseman from Owatonna Minnesota whose rights were just traded to the Generals from the Ft. Wayne Komets where he was an integral piece of the Komets two Turner Cup Championship teams the past two seasons. Pence played NCAA ice hockey for The University of Massachusetts-Lowell from 2003-2007 appearing in 95 games. Following his collegiate career, Jake competed for one season in the ECHL with the Fresno Falcons before joining the Fort Wayne Komets for the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons.

Defenseman Kyle Kos, selected 33rd overall in the '97 NHL Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning, is entering his 12th season as a professional hockey player. Having played for the Detroit Vipers, Utah Grizzlies and the past two seasons in Muskegon (originally the Fury) Lumberjacks, Kos is no stranger to the IHL. He joins the Generals with 46 goals, 193 assists and 1306 PIMs in 725 games (excluding playoffs).

Mike Smietana is a forward from Buffalo, New York. He played for the Buffalo Lightning in 2000-01 before playing for SUNY Fredonia's men's hockey team from 2004-2007. Last season Smietana played in two games for the Battle Creek Revolution of the AAHA.
