Generals Announce Player Acquisitions

EL PASO, TX. : The El Paso Generals announced on Thursday, February 12, 2009 that the club has added seven prospects to the 2009 training camp roster. Four defensive players; DL Polo Gutierrez, DL Caleb Bialik, DL Gerald Goldberg and DB Daryl Williams will join the team in late March as will three offensive prospects; RB/WR Cody Hull, WR Lemans Casimier and WR Brandon Sparrow. All seven players bring many great aspects to the indoor football game and each player will add depth to their respected positions for this upcoming season.

Polo Gutierrez (DL) 6'3", 295 lbs. New Mexico State University -

Gutierrez played four seasons for the New Mexico State University program at both offensive and defensive line. Gutierrez complied an outstanding high school career at Carroll High School in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Caleb Bialik (DL) 6'5", 265 lbs. Trinity Bible College -

Bialik played high school ball at Delta Junction in Arkansas. Following Delta Junction, Bialik joined the Trinity Bible College program where in 2006 he was named NCCAA All-American First Team Defense, according to Don Hansen's Football Gazette.

Gerald Goldberg (DL) 6'3", 300 lbs. Murray State -

Goldberg earned Academic All-Conference honors at Ventura Junior College in 2004. That same season he was named Defensive Player of the Year. In 2005 while at Murray State, Goldberg saw action in every game including a two-tackle performance against Jacksonville State on October 8th.

Daryl Williams (DB) 5'10", 196 lbs. Belhaven College -

Williams attended and played at Cumberland University before making the transition to Belhaven College. Williams played a significant role in the Blazers secondary as being a starter at both safety and cornerback. Williams was recognized for his open-field tackling and speed.

Cody Hull (RB/WR) 5'11", 215 lbs. Southern Mississippi University -

Cody Hull is from Hattiesburg, Mississippi and played high school ball at Oak Grove High School. While at Southern Mississippi, Hull became a very productive running back as a starter for two seasons. His most memorable performance came in the 2006 New Orleans Bowl when Hull rushed for 161 yards and scored one touchdown versus Arkansas State.

Lemans Casimier (WR ) 6'3", 190 lbs. Ittawamba Community College -

Lemans played for two seasons with the Mississippi Mudcats of the AIFA. Casimier is a quick receiver with good hands, and he will be a good weapon in the passing game for this season. Casimier also played with Ittawamba Community College before his move to professional indoor football.

Brandon Sparrow (WR) 6'0", 175 lbs. Guilford College -

Sparrow was a starting defensive back at Guilford College and made the transition to professional indoor football with the Lubbock Renegades of the AF2 in 2008. Sparrow has great athletic ability and can be a dual-threat at wide receiver and defensive back.
