Gems Welcome Dayton Icon Cassano's Pizza as Premier Partner

Dayton, Ohio - The Dayton Gems professional hockey team is proud to announce the addition of Cassano's "The Pizza King" as a premier partner for the upcoming Central Hockey League season, and the naming of the team's ice rink inside the historic Hara Arena officially to "Cassano's Italian Ice".

Dayton-based Cassano's joins the Gems as the official naming rights partner of the ice surface inside the historic Hara Arena. In addition to signage, the ice will be officially referred to as "Cassano's Italian Ice" for the entire 2011-2012 season.

"The Cassano family shares the vision of the Gems organization, with a strong belief in providing quality family products and entertainment in the Miami Valley," said Gems Team President Joe Greene. "We have a number of special promotions planned for this season in conjunction with Cassano's, and we couldn't be more excited to partner with such a historic Dayton brand like The Pizza King."

"It was our desire, along with our Father Vic Cassano Jr. to bring back in a new way the "Fans In The Stands©" concept pioneered by our Grandfather, Vic Cassano Sr. in the late sixties" says Cassano's President Chris Cassano. As "Fan In The Stands©" was a popular TV/Radio in-game segment featuring interviews with spectators at local athletic events. "We've been seeking the right sports alliance for several years... a win-win relationship between 'partners' who share a common vision in creating a great experience for the fan" says Cassano's CEO Vic "Chip" Cassano III. "It was quickly apparent in our meeting with the Gems Front Office and in their reception to the various and unique ideas we put on the table that it was 'Game On!"
