
Gems Team up with the Herald and News to Bring Major League Baseball's Pitch, Hit and Run to Klamath

The Klamath Falls Gems will host Major League Baseball's Official Skills Competition next month at Kiger Stadium. The grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills. Boys and girls will be divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2014 MLB ¢ All-Star Gameé.
The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion in each age and gender group at the Local Competition will be awarded and advance to the Sectional Level of Competition.
Date: Saturday, April 26, 2014
Time: Between 9am - Noon (no appointment necessary arrive anytime)
Location: Kiger Stadium ~ Home of the Klamath Falls Gems
Cost: FREE - sponsored by the Klamath Falls Gems and The Herald and News
"We're excited to bring this exciting competition to the Klamath basin and make it available, free of charge, to all the area youth," said Gems' owner, Jerry Walker. "We've had the pleasure of hosting this competition many times at Volcanoes Stadium in Salem, this year it is our pleasure to bring it to Kiger Stadium," concluded Walker.
