Dayton Gems News Release

The AA-plus International Hockey League's Dayton Gems of Hara Arena are proud to announce that they have come to a working agreement with the "Single A" Chi-Town Shooters of the All American Hockey League. The Shooters, last year's AAHL champions, were founded in 2008 and skate out of the Midwest Training and Ice Center in Dyer, Indiana, a suburb of Chicago.

"This agreement gives our team a tremendous opportunity to help develop younger talent to be brought up to the Gems roster." President/General Manager Richard Bruner said.

The Gems will be holding a roster of 19 active players and utilizing the Shooters in order to keep the two inactive players on the Gems roster skating and in playing shape.

Chi-Town head coach Darren Seid will be attending the Gems rookie and training camp at Hara Arena. Seid will be helping to run the camp and also evaluating players for potential spots on Chi-Town's roster if the player does not make the Gems.

The Gems become the third International Hockey League team this season to enter in to a working agreement with an AAHL team this off season. The Fort Wayne Komets have affiliated with Evansville and the Muskegon Lumberjacks have affiliated with Battle Creek.
