Gems Announce 2011 Promotional Schedule

KLAMATH FALLS, OR - The Klamath Falls Gems today announced their 2011 game day promotional schedule, featuring giveaways, discount nights and exhibition games covering every night of the 31-game home schedule. The Gems open their inaugural season Friday, June 3 at 7:05 p.m. as the team takes on the Bend Elks at Historic Kiger Stadium.
"Our goal is always to provide as much entertainment as we can for our fans," Gems General Manager Chuck Heeman said. "The reception we've gotten in the Klamath Basin has been overwhelming from fans and corporate partners who understand the fun of being a part of Gems Baseball. We've put together a pretty impressive array of giveaways and special nights for our fans, and we'll add to it as the season gets closer. It's going to be a great first year for the Gems and the community, and we can't wait to get started in June."
The Gems offer promotional giveaways to the first 1,000 fans every Friday night and selected Saturday nights, as well as a recliner raffle from Legacy Furniture every Saturday night and a special Holliday Jewelry "Diamond Dig" on Saturday, July 16. In addition, food discounts every weeknight, chances to meet the players and get on the field, and a celebrity appearance by Ronald McDonald highlight the season.
In the fall, the Gems and the Klamath Falls-based Community Arts Kitchen will host a six-night "Field of Screams" haunted house at Kiger Stadium. "Field of Screams" will feature separate adult-themed and kid-themed haunted house areas, food and drink, and six nights of Halloween fun. The event will close the 2011 Kiger Stadium season.

October 21-22 and 28-31: "Field of Screams" haunted house at Kiger Stadium, presented by McDonald's, Charter Communications, Country Legends 960, Herald and News, Fisher Nicholson Realtors, Legacy Furniture and Western Beverage.
Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday home game will be designated "Wild Weeknights," offering fans $2 beer, soda, water, hot dogs and nachos. On Sundays the Gems feature KLAD Family Night, with $2 soda, water, hot dogs and nachos, along with a chance for kids to run the bases after the game, parents to play catch with their kids in the outfield, and the opportunity to meet the Gems. Gems players will meet the fans at Kiger Stadium's two party decks for autographs and pictures after each Sunday game.
