The Klamath Falls Gems and the West Coast League have announced their schedule for the 2014 Season and, in conjunction, set Monday, July 21, as the date for the West Coast League All Star Game/Home Run Derby which will be held at Kiger Stadium in Klamath Falls.
The Gems will open their 4th season with a home game versus the Medford Rogues on Thursday, June 5th. Following a six game road trip to Kitsap and Bellingham (June 6-11) the Gems will return to Kiger Stadium for a six game homestand versus the League's newest team, Yakima, and the Wenatchee AppleSox (June 14-19).
Other schedule highlights include a pair of three game homestands versus the defending West Coast League Champions, Corvallis Knights, on July 3, 4, and 5, and a weekend series against the Knights on August 1, 2, and 3. In addition to the June 5th opener, the rival Medford Rogues will play six additional games in Klamath Falls on June 23, 24, a weekend series June 27, 28, 29 and a final matchup August 6th.
Sunday, July 20, will be an off day for the entire League to allow a day for players, coaches, scouts, staff, and team administrators to travel Klamath Falls for the League's annual All Star Game and Home Run Derby the following day.
