Gators' Karasiewicz Named SBK Player of the Month

CHARLOTTE, NC (December 1, 2010) - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced Trevor Karasiewicz of the Louisiana IceGators has been selected as the SBK Player of the Month for October/November.

Karasiewicz scored seven goals, including two power-play and one shorthanded, and added 20 assists in 14 games. A native of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Karasiewicz recorded nine multi-point games and has scored in all but two contests this season. In addition, Karasiewicz has been involved in 54% of Louisiana's goals this season (27 of 50).

Karasiewicz recorded a seven-game point streak last month, scoring five goals and setting up 13 others in that span. Included in the streak was a three-goal, one-assist effort in a 6-5 win at Mississippi and a two-goal, three-assist outburst in a 7-5 win over Fayetteville.

Now in his eighth professional season, Karasiewicz, who was named SBK Player of the Week for October 25-October 31, began the year as the fifth-leading scorer in SPHL history with 326 points in 298 games.
