Game With Brakettes is NPF Game of the Week
HOUSTON, Texas - Thursday night's Texas Thunder game with the Connecticut Brakettes will be the featured game of the week as announced today by NPF Vice President Kathy Dosen.
Tonight's Thunder game is the first game of the week broadcast this season and the Brakettes' Rob Baird will host it. Baird, the voice of the Brakettes during the regular season, will call the game from a neutral point of view and is expected to have coach Javier Vela on before the game begins.
Fans of National Pro Fastpitch can now tune in to their computer every Thursday night to listen to the NPF Game of the Week, a new Internet radio show by linking from www.profastpitch.com. The program is the result of a joint effort by NPF teams utilizing broadcast talent in local markets.
Broadcasts will include segments focusing on both teams, around the league updates, and post-game interviews with players and coaches. A different NPF game will be aired live every Thursday night until the end of the regular season with all seven-league teams featured at least once. The featured game will be announced on a weekly basis in an effort to air key match-ups leading up to the NPF Championships.
Christa Williams will be in the circle for the Thunder and Connecticut's Sarah Pauly will oppose her.
Tonight's game in Connecticut is the first of four with the Brakettes. The two teams will lock up again tomorrow night at 6:05 p.m. CDT with Saturday and Sunday night's games scheduled for 4:05 p.m. All four games of the series, including tonight's game of the week, will be available online at www.ctbrakettes.com.
Texas will return to action at Big League Dreams on Wednesday, July 19 at 7 p.m. when they host the Akron Racers for a four-game set.
