
Game Preview: Spirit Host Hounds in Game 4 at the Dow Event Center

Saginaw, MI - On Wednesday evening, the Saginaw Spirit host the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds at The Dow Event Center for the fourth game in the first round of playoffs. The Hounds currently lead the Spirit 3-0 in the best-of-seven series. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. with live radio coverage beginning at 6:50 p.m. on 100.5 WSGW-FM and www.fmtalk1005.com
On Monday night, the Saginaw Spirit faced off against the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in their first playoff game on home ice of the series. Max Grondin opened the scoring and gave the Spirit a 1-0 lead at 8:28 of the first period. Grondin would add an assist to become the first Spirit to record a multi-point game in the series. Grondin's goal was answered by Taylor Raddysh tying the game 1-1 to end the first period.
Boris Katchouk gave the Soo their first lead in the game at the halfway point of the second period. With a goal from Spirit overager Mason Kohn the game was tied 2-2 after 40 minutes of play.
Katchouk scored his second goal of the at the 6:29 mark of the third period, followed by a goal 13 seconds later by Hayden Verbeek. Rasmus Sandin and Jack Kopacka added to the Soo's tally taking the score to 6-2. Nicholas Porco lit the lamp for the Spirit with 2:56 remaining in regulation to bring the score to 6-3. The goal by Porco was his first career OHL Playoff goal.
A second goal from Raddysh gave the Greyhounds their seventh goal and third powerplay tally of the game. After playing even with the Hounds for the majority of the game, the Spirit fell in the third period for a final score of 7-3.
