Chippewa Steel News Release
(Chippewa Falls, WI) - Thursday the Steel return home to Chippewa Area Ice Arena as they take on the Janesville Jets for the first time this season.
Last season the Steel finished above Janesville, ranking second in the division while Janesville finished fifth in the division. Head-to-head last season the Steel stole 8 of 10 games from Janesville and posted 171 goals for.
Returning for Janesville is forward Charlie Schoen who made notable contributions last season for the Jets and has six goals and eight assists in twelve games this season. Also hot for Janesville is forward Cade Destefani who has 21 points so far on the season.
Janesville also ranks third in the league in powerplay percentage with 24.1%, and second in the league in penalty kill percentage with 90.4%, so the Steel powerplay will be challenged more, and they will look to stay out of the penalty box during this series.
