San Antonio FC News Release
At a glance...
Through 15 Matches
San Antonio FC has just one remaining game to their 16-game regular season this year. Normally, this point would mark about the halfway point of the season, but with the shortened format, SAFC is on the brink of playoffs. San Antonio's 10 wins through 15 games this season is tied for the most in club history, while the 29 goals scored are five more than any other season through the first 15.
SAFC Through 15 Games By Season:
Season Record Goals Goals Allowed
2016 5-5-5 20 16
2017 10-1-4 24 6
2018 5-4-6 15 16
2019 4-7-4 20 26 2020 10-2-3 29 12
Playoff Scenarios
As the winners of Group D, SAFC has earned the right to host the first-round playoff match next weekend. They will face the runner-up in Group C, which is currently New Mexico United. However, SAFC is waiting for Group C to wrap up their games to solidify the exact opponent. Despite always taking it one game at a time, SAFC is also trying to secure as many potential home playoff matches as possible. SAFC is currently the second seed in the conference on 33 points, trailing Reno by goal difference. Entering the final game of the season, Reno, SAFC and Phoenix Rising can clinch home field advantage throughout the playoffs. With San Antonio wrapping up the best record in Groups C and D, they will host their first two playoff matches should they advance.
