Game 63 Recap: Tigers Stumble against Renegades

The Connecticut Tigers opened their three-game series with the Hudson Valley Renegades, affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, losing 6-2.

Blaise Salter drove in both runs for the Tigers, bringing his season total to 42 runs batted in on the year. Salter trails Dean Green (44) for the single season RBI record with 13 games to play.

Danny Woodrow continued his hot stretch at the dish, notching his fourth-straight multi-hit performance. Woodrow has 14 hits in his last 10 games and has scored eight runs during the stretch.

After the Tigers plated a run on Salter's 10th double of the season in the first, the Renegades put up a three spot in the third inning. Jim Haley drove a two-run double out to left field to give the Renegades a 2-1 advantage. Nate Lowe followed with his own run scoring double to push the lead to 3-1.

The Tigers move to 1-3 on the season against the Renegades and hope to bounce back tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. Ryan Castellanos toes the rubber and hopes to become the all-time wins leader with the Tigers with a victory tomorrow. Castellanos currently has seven victories this season with Connecticut.

The Connecticut Tigers are the New York-Penn League affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and play a 76 game schedule that runs from mid-June through early September. 2016 season tickets, group tickets, mini plans, individual game tickets, and team merchandise are now on sale!
