Minot Skyrockets News Release
Minot, ND - May 1, 2007 - Another man from the Skyrockets roster is heading south for the summer. Center Kenyon Gamble (6'11", 220 lb.) signed with the Trotamundos de Carabobo of Valencia, Venezulea. The Trotamundos are the reigning champions in the Venezuelan LPB league and are currently in second place.
In the 2006-2007 season, Gamble played in all 47 games for the Skyrockets, starting 45 times. He was a defensive force under the basket, averaging 6.6 rebounds per game. He also led the league with 156 blocked shots on the season, tying him for eighth all-time in CBA history. Gamble was also named to the CBA All-Defensive Team for the second year in a row.
"This is a good opportunity for Kenyon to expand his horizons and work on his game. This will give him a great opportunity to get ready for the NBA summer leagues," said Head Coach Chris Daleo.
Gamble is the seventh player from the Skyrockets roster to join another team in the off-season. "It is great to see so many players finding work in other leagues and oversees. It gives them a chance to continue developing their skills and further their careers," added Daleo.
