Gallagher Dominates as Bisons Defeat Worcester

WORCESTER, MA - Yohendrick Piñango picked up three hits, one of them a two-run homer, to propel the Buffalo Bisons to a 6-2 victory over the Worcester Red Sox on Friday evening at Polar Park.

Sean Keys also homered for the Bisons, hitting a solo shot in the top of the seventh inning. Keys also doubled in the third.

Pat Gallagher threw four scoreless innings in relief of John Klein for the fifth inning and was credited with the win. Gallagher struck out six batters while allowing just one hit and a walk in his longest outing this season.

Worcester took the lead to start the game in the first inning. Romy Gonzalez hit a sac-fly to center field to score Braiden Ward.

Buffalo would tie it 1-1 in the second. With two outs on the board, Peyton Williams smashed an RBI double to right-center field to give him his first RBI at the Triple-A level.

The Bisons took their first lead of the game in the third inning. With two outs again in the inning, Yohendrick Piñango blasted a two-run homer to right-center field.

Tsung-Che Cheng sliced the lead in half for the Red Sox in the bottom half of the inning. Nate Eaton lined out into a double play, allowing Cheng to tag up from third base and score.

Buffalo added cushioning to its lead in the sixth inning. Ismael Munguia singled to center field, driving in Davis Schneider to put the Bisons up 4-2.

Keys helped Buffalo pour it on more in the seventh. Keys crushed the ball to right field for a solo shot.

The Bisons added another insurance run in the eighth inning. Rudy Martin Jr. Hit a sac-fly to center field, scoring William Simoneit to increase the lead to 6-2.

Buffalo and Worcester are scheduled for a 4:05 p.m. first pitch on Thursday at Polar Park. The series is tied 2-2. Pregame coverage on The Bet 1520 AM, the Audacy app, and Bisons.com begins broadcast coverage at 3:45 p.m.
