Austin FC News Release
Portland, OREGON - Austin FC came back from a one-goal deficit on two (2) occasions to draw 2-2 with Portland Timbers on Saturday night at Providence Park.
Defender Jon Gallagher scored his fourth goal of the season for the Verde & Black, the most among all MLS defenders, and forward Will Bruin scored Austin FC's latest-ever away goal in the 92nd-minute. Midfielder Owen Wolff contributed assists on both Austin goals.
Dario Zuparic opened the scoring for Portland in the 33rd-minute, rising at the back post to head in a cross from Evander.
Austin equalized after halftime with a well-constructed goal. Wolff played Emiliano Rigoni down the left flank, and the Argentine set up Gallagher with a pinpoint cross. The assist was Rigoni's second goal contribution in as many games.
12 minutes later, the hosts regained their advantage through Claudio Bravo. The Portland left back hit an accurate low shot from the edge of the penalty area which found the bottom corner.
Austin made late substitutions in search of another tying goal and were rewarded when Bruin headed in Wolff's long cross in stoppage time to earn the visitors a hard-fought point.
