
Galaxy to honor Monica Lozano and Enot Rubio

CARSON, CA (Thursday, August 31, 2006) - The Los Angeles Galaxy is proud to announce that the club will honor Monica Lozano, CEO and Publisher of La Opinion and Enot Rubio, President of The Salvadoran Committee El Piche, on Saturday, Sept. 2 for their years of work benefiting the Southern California Hispanic communities. Lozano and Rubio will be recognized at halftime of the Galaxy vs. Kansas City Wizards game as part of the Galaxy's Budweiser Hispanic Heritage Night festivities at 7:30 p.m. at The Home Depot Center.
Monica Lozano manages La Opinion, the nation's largest Spanish language daily newspaper that is currently celebrating 80 years of serving the Southern California Hispanic community. La Opinion has been a supporter of the L.A. Galaxy and Major League Soccer since the league's inception.
Enot Rubio, President of The Salvadoran Committee El Piche, has worked to improve the lives of many Hispanics and El Salvadoran citizens through soccer. El Piche is a non-profit organization that works to better the lives of El Salvadoran and other communities in need. Rubio played an important role in building "Centro Deportivo Mauricio Cienfuegos", a state of the art athletic training facility for children and young adults. In Los Angeles, Rubio works with local soccer leagues to help at risk children.
Los Angeles Galaxy President and General Manager Alexi Lalas and Galaxy legend Mauricio Cienfuegos will be on hand to congratulate and present both recipients with their awards.
