FISHKILL, NY (September 3, 2007) - Stephen Vogt and Reid Fronk each drove in three runs as the Renegades cruised to a 10-3 win over the Aberdeen IronBirds.
Hudson Valley's Josh Johnson improved to 5-2 on the mound tonight. Johnson surrendered a two-run homer to Aberdeen shortstop Ryan Adams in the third but settled down and completed five effective innings.
Trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the third, the 'Gades broke out, scoring five runs in the frame and another five runs in the fourth inning. IronBirds starter Josh Tamba (1-5) could not escape the fourth inning as he served up nine runs on nine hits.
The Renegades (32-40) bullpen shut the door on the IronBirds (32-40) with four innings of shutout baseball. Robert Della Grotta, Mark Suchoweicki and Bladimir Florentino struck out four and allowed just two hits.
The four-game set between these two teams will wrap up tomorrow night at Dutchess Stadium beginning at 6:05 p.m.
