
Future Rivermen Kick off Prospects Tournament Today

The St. Louis Blues are one of eight NHL teams that will participate in the 13th annual NHL Prospects Tournament beginning today in Traverse City, Mich. The Blues will take on the Tampa Bay Lightning prospects at 5:30 p.m. today in their first game of a three-game round robin. They will also face the Dallas and the Detroit Red Wings.
Blues will face-off in a three-game round robin tournament against the Dallas Stars, Detroit Red Wings and Tampa Bay Lightning. Other teams included in the tournament are the Atlanta Thrashers, Carolina Hurricanes, Columbus Blue Jackets and New York Rangers.
The Blues have won the tournament four times and this year's roster includes draft picks, signed players and tryout players which is highlighted by Alex Pietrangelo (1st round selection, 4th overall in 2008), Philip McRae (2nd round, 33rd overall in 2008), Ian Cole (1st round, 18th overall in 2007), Jake Allen (2nd round, 34th overall in 2008) and Brett Ponich (2nd round, 48th overall in 2009). In addition, the roster includes 2010 draft selections, Cody Beach (5th round, 134th overall) and Stephen MacAulay (6th round, 164th overall).
