Wide receiver Andre Reed, a former Pro-Bowl standout for the Buffalo Bills, will be appearing at the May 17 home game against Fayetteville. Reed is currently waiting on the ballot to be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall-of-Fame in Canton, Ohio.
Reed is a graduate of Dieroff High School in Allentown, where he played quarterback. He also attended and graduated from Kutztown University, where he played one year with Express GM/Head Coach Bernie Nowotarski. While at KU, Reed set nine school receiving records.
In 1985, Reed was selected in the fourth round by the Buffalo Bills and had a stellar 16-year career. In his rookie season, Reed has 48 catches for 637 yards and four touchdowns. He would make the Pro Bowl seven times and the Super Bowl four times.
In addition, he set the Bills' all-time records for receptions (941), receiving yards (13,095), receiving touchdowns (86), and 100-yard reception games (36).
Reed finished his career with 13,198 yards receiving (sixth all-time) and 951 receptions (fourth all-time).
Reed will be available before and after the games for autographs, as well as being on the field at some point during the game (not in game action though). He will also be appearing at the post-game party, located at Cavanaugh's Downtown Reading Hofbrau.
We look forward to having Andre at the May 17 game and we hope that you will come out and meet this future Hall-of-Famer!!
