Detroit Fury News Release

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -The Detroit Fury of the Arena Football League signed two players for the upcoming 2004 season - AFL veteran Adrian Lunsford (DS) and AFL rookie David Dinkins (QB).

Lunsford, 5'10" 180 lbs, is a 10-year veteran of the AFL and a proven leader. Lunsford has played for four different expansion teams over 10 years, most recently with the Colorado Crush in 2003. Lunsford is a natural defensive back, although he has the ability to play receiver. In his career, Lunsford has become one of the AFL's top defensive players, posting career numbers of 414.0 tackles, 75 pass deflections and 30 interceptions.

"Lunsford is a veteran player who knows the game very well," said Fury Head Coach Tom Luginbill. "He is an outstanding person and one of the best locker room leaders I have ever been around. He strengthens our secondary with leadership."

Rookie quarterback David Dinkins will make his AFL debut in 2004. A versatile athlete, Dinkins will also be competing for spots at WR/DB and WR/LB. At 6'2" 200 lbs, Dinkins comes to Detroit after stints with the Buffalo Bills in the NFL and the Amsterdam Admirals of NFL Europe, where he competed for positions as a quarterback, wide receiver and a defensive back.

Dinkins had a very successful college career at Morehead State. He is one of the best I-AA quarterbacks to play, and the only I-AA quarterback in history to rush for over a 1,000 yards and pass for over a 1,000 yards in three straight seasons.

"Dinkins will have the opportunity to make this team as a QB, WR/DB and WR/LB," said Luginbill. "He is big, physical and an outstanding athlete. He is also a good kicking game player. We feel his versatility is certainly an asset to this roster."

The Fury will return for their fourth season of Arena Football League action at The Palace of Auburn Hills in February 2004. Season tickets for the Fury can be purchased by calling (248) 377-0100, and additional information can be found at www.detroitfury.com.
