
Fury Game Changers Earn NASL Team of the Week Nod

OTTAWA, ON - It was another sound 90 minute performance from Ottawa Fury FC last Sunday en route to a 1-0 victory over San Antonio to inch the second-year club that much close to claiming the Fall Season Championship. Romuald Peiser made a pair of crucial first half saves and collected his NASL-record 14th shutout of the season and Mauro Eustauqio scored midway through the second half ensuring Ottawa took all three points on the afternoon. On Wednesday, the NASL recognized the performance from the pair with a spot on the Team of the Week.
For the fourth time in six weeks and the sixth time this season, NASL Golden Ball (MVP) candidate Romuald Peiser was named to the NASL Team of the Week. The Fury keeper once again proved why he is among the top players at his position in the NASL making several timely saves throughout the match en route to his NASL record-setting 14th shutout of the season. Peiser also tied the NASL record for most wins in a season (14).
While Ottawa was dominant in possession for a majority of the match, it remained scoreless through 67 minutes until Julian De Guzman's remarkable pass found Mauro Eustaquio who unleashed a 25-yard rocket the kissed off the back post and in for the 22-year-old's second tally of the season. The young Canadian's goal stood to be the match-winner giving Ottawa a crucial three points in the race for the Fall Season Championship.
Fury FC are in Jacksonville Wednesday night needing a single point to capture the NASL Fall Season Championship. Winning the fall title would see Fury FC host the Championship Semifinal November 8 at TD Place.
