Fury FC Welcomes Three on Loan from Toronto FC

OTTAWA - Ottawa Fury FC announced on Wednesday it has added three players on year-long loan from Toronto FC. As such, defender Robert Boskovic, forward Shaan Hundal, and midfielder Aidan Daniels will join the Ottawa club ahead of its 2019 USL Championship season start this Saturday in Charleston.
Boskovic, 20, has made 55 appearances in three seasons for TFC II in the USL as a call up from the Toronto FC Academy. He made his debut for TFC II when he came on as a substitute against AS Roma Primavera on Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Boskovic made his USL debut on August 15, 2015, against the Richmond Kickers and earned his first start in USL on September 9 against the Charlotte Independence. In 2017, he also represented Toronto FC III at the 69th Viareggio Cup, appearing in all three group stage matches. Last season, with TFC II in USL, he featured in 30 matches, reaching over 2,600 minutes of play. He ranked 14th in the league for ball recoveries and featured in the league's top 20 for most minutes played by a centre-back, making him well-versed in the rigour of USL competition.
A Mississauga native, Boskovic also played with the Ryerson Rams of the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) where he appeared in 27 matches registering two goals and three assists. During his rookie season in 2016-17, he was named an OUA East Division first-team all-star, the OUA rookie of the year, a U Sports first-team all-star and the winner of the Lou Bilek Award for the U Sports men's soccer rookie of the year.
Hundal, 19, signed with Toronto FC II on September 1, 2016. He had originally joined the Toronto FC Academy in May 2014 after previously playing with Brampton Youth Soccer Club. He appeared in 27 matches, registering six goals and one assist while logging 1,686 minutes during the 2016 USL regular season for Toronto FC II, registering his first professional goal on May 29 vs Wilmington Hammerheads FC. Through his three seasons in USL, he has appeared in 76 matches, scoring 17 goals and cumulating over 4,560 minutes of play, maintaining a scoring ratio of 288 minutes per goal scored.
The 5-foot-11 forward from Brampton was also named to the Canadian team for the 2017 CONCACAF Men's U-20 Championship where he played in three games and scored one goal.
Signed as a homegrown player with Toronto FC in April 2018, Daniels, 20, made his MLS debut on April 21, 2018, against Houston Dynamo. A product of the TFC Academy, he signed with TFC II in July 2016 and earned 21 appearances with the club that year. Throughout his three previous seasons in USL, Daniels has featured in 69 matches, scoring three goals and assisting on two more, as well as logging almost 4,000 minutes of play. He was also in the Toronto FC squad that won the 2018 Canadian Championship.
Daniels has featured in the Canadian youth national team program since his early years. He participated in U-15 camps before making two appearances in the 2015 CONCACAF U-17 Championship. More recently, he was also named to Canada's roster for the 2017 CONCACAF U-20 Championship and the 2018 Toulon Tournament where he featured for all four matches under the watchful eye of Canada's Men's National Team Head Coach John Herdman.

Ottawa Fury FC wrapped up its preseason camp this past Saturday and now shifts its focus to its 2019 USL Championship season opener this Saturday, March 9, as the club travels to Charleston to face the Battery (7:30 p.m.). After two matches on the road, Fury FC will return to TD Place on Saturday, April 6 to host Nashville SC (2 p.m.).
