Ottawa Fury FC News Release

OTTAWA, ON - Ottawa Fury FC will host Toronto FC May 23 at 7:30 p.m. at TD Place in the first leg of the Canadian Championship Semifinals after the club advanced over FC Edmonton 4-2 on aggregate Wednesday night. This marks the second straight year that Paul Dalglish and his squad have reached the semi-final round of the Canadian Championship and will mark the first-ever meeting between Ottawa Fury FC and the most successful Canadian MLS club, Toronto FC.

Tickets go on-sale Thursday morning at 10 a.m.

"We're absolutely delighted," said Paul Dalglish following Wednesday's match in Edmonton. "This was a goal of ours again this year following our success last season and we all can't wait for the atmosphere at TD Place on May 23. The support was incredible last season against Vancouver and powered us to victory and I know this will be a special night in our club's history." Over 9,000 fans helped power Fury FC to a 2-0 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps at TD Place in the 2016 Canadian Championship Semifinals before falling 3-2 on aggregate after a 3-0 defeat on the return leg in Vancouver. Ottawa will look to become the first-ever non-MLS club to advance to the Canadian Championship Final. Toronto FC are the reigning Canadian Champions after defeating Vancouver last season and are 5-time winners of the Voyageurs Cup. The TFC roster is bolstered with Canadian and International talents that includes the likes of Sebastien Giovinco, Jozy Altidore, Michael Bradley, Jonathan Osorio, Clint Irwin and Tosaint Ricketts.

The second leg of the semifinals is set for BMO Field in Toronto on May 31 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the May 23 semi-final clash between Fury FC and TFC are on sale now at OttawaFuryFC.com
