OTTAWA, ON - After picking up a big point on the road last weekend against the Rowdies and spoiling their postseason hopes with a 1-1 draw, Ottawa Fury FC is back at TD Place Saturday afternoon to take on the Fort Lauderdale Strikers in their Season Finale as part of the Fan Appreciation Day.

While players will be looking to finish the season on a strong note, they will also be looking to put on a good performance to reward and thank Fury FC fans for their support throughout the 2016 campaign.

For midfielder Onua Obasi, who had a strong 90-minute performance last weekend in Tampa Bay, it's important that the players offer the fans something to cheer about. In 15 home matches this season, Fury FC have a record of 5W-6D-4L and outscored their opponents 21-14

"We had a season of ups and downs, so we want to offer our fans something to cheer about on Saturday," said Obasi. "Our home games have been our best games this season, as the crowd creates a great atmosphere to play in. With the drums banging and all the noise, it seems like a European atmosphere at times."

"At the end of the day, we're not in the position we'd like to be at the moment, but the fans still turned out and it's massive for us, so we want to thank them properly," added Obasi."

Ottawa will also be looking to build on the positives from the past few weeks as the team outshot its opponents five times in its last seven games (38 to 27) and dominated possession most of the time.

Fury FC played their first-ever match in the NASL against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers on April 12th 2014, suffering a 2-0 loss, and will now play their last-ever NASL match against the same club, as Ottawa will join the USL in 2017. The club has an all-time record of 29W-27D-32L all-time in the NASL.
