Fury Derail Express With Impressive 11-3 Victory

ONTARIO, CALIF. --- The Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, defeated the visiting Turlock Express 11-3 in a dominating performance in front of 2,269 fans during Faith and Family Night at the Citizens Business Bank Arena.

Ontario Fury (5-8), needing a victory to keep its slim playoff hopes alive, came out of the gate with winning on their minds. Robert Tornel opened the scoring 9:46 into the game, giving the Fury a lead it would not relinquish. Tino Nunez's 14th goal of the season 2:16 later gave the Fury a 2-0 lead through the first.

The Fury held on to the shutout through the first half, scoring four times in the second quarter. Tiguinho blasted a goal twenty-four seconds into the period. Francisco Magana, Miguel Sanchez, Mikel Palmerin, and Majell Aterado also tallied in the quarter.

The Turlock Express came out of the break with a new found intensity. Jesus Belmonte scored the Express' first goal about 2 minutes into the third. Adrian Gutierrez added to the Turlock goals with the Express' second in the third.

Not to be out done, the Fury responded, scored four unanswered to close out the quarter, for an 11-2 victory after three. Turlock got the only goal in the fourth with a shot from Beau Villanueva.

Ontario's goalie Sanaldo had a gem of a game with 12 saves from 15 attempts. Manny Kaji substituted late in the game. He had no shot attempts. Turlock's Javier Rosales had 13 saves from 24 attempts.

The next home game will be the Fury's last home game of the season. The game is a Fan Appreciation night. There will be a special merchandise sale, post-game autograph session open to all and an auction of the Fury's inaugural season jerseys. Also, at halftime, there will be a special treat, as mascots from around the region will take the field for a game at halftime.
