Fuqua joins Frost Heaves

Vermont Frost Heaves News Release


South Burlington, VT - Anthony Fuqua, a 6'11" Center has agreed to play for the Vermont Frost Heaves for the remainder of the 2009 PBL Season.

Fuqua, a native of Largo, Maryland most recently played for Bravos Piedras Negras - Eagle Pass (Mexico-LNBP) where he played in 21 games averaging 14ppg, 9.25rpg, and 2.5 bpg. He shot 56.3% from the field and 68.4% from the free throw line.

The scouting report on Anthony "He is a rebounding, shot blocking big man that runs the floor with ease, scores in the paint and prides himself on defense. A great addition to any club with an athletic build and great jumping ability. "He is pure energy "".

Anthony has spent time in the NBA Summer Leagues with the New York Knicks, the Orlando Magic and San Antonio Spurs. He has also played for the Austin Toros of the NBA D-league and the Albuquerque Thunderbirds.

To make room on the roster for Fuqua, the Frost Heaves have released Boomer Herndon. The Frost Heaves have also released guard Chris Gaynor, and Forward Greg Stevenson.

After a come from behind victory in Rochester on Monday, The Frost Heaves head to the province of Quebec for a game Friday night in Quebec City against the Kebs, and then face the Montreal Sasquatch in Montreal on Saturday night. The Frost Heaves next home game is in Barre on January 31, when the Halifax Rainmen come to town.
