
FSN to Televise Thursday Timbers Playoff Game

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers and FSN today announced that Thursday night's USSF Division-2 Pro League playoff opener between the Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps will be televised live at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday's match in Burnaby, B.C., is the first of a two-match, aggregate-goal quarterfinal series between the clubs, with the second leg occurring Sunday, Oct. 10, at 6 p.m. at Merlo Field on the University of Portland campus.
The Northwest rivals meet in the playoffs for a second consecutive season. The matchup between Portland and Vancouver is a rematch of the 2009 USL First Division semifinals, in which the Whitecaps edged the Timbers 5-4 on aggregate after a 3-3 draw in the second leg of the series at PGE Park.
