FSL Selects 5 T-Yanks For 2010 All-Star Team

The Florida State League announced today the league selections for the 2010 North and South All-Star Teams. The All-Star Game will be played at Space Coast Stadium in Viera, Florida on Saturday, June 12th at 7:35 PM.

Catcher Mitch Abeita, outfielder Jack Rye, infielder Corban Joseph and pitchers Hector Noesi and Adam Warren will represent the Tampa Yankees this year.

Mitch Abeita

Mitch Abeita Catcher Mitch Abeita was drafted in the 19th round of the 2008 First Year Player Draft by the New York Yankees out of the University of Nebraska. He ended the 2009 season with the Class-A Charleston RiverDogs with a .225 batting average, 12 doubles, and one homerun in 74 games.

This season, Abeita has a .236 batting average in 37 games with seven doubles and one triple.

Jack Rye

Jack RyeOutfielder Jack Rye was drafted in 13th round of the 2008 First Year Player Draft by the New York Yankees out of Florida State University. Rye ended the 2009 season with the Tampa Yankees with a .256 batting average in 75 games. He recorded 13 doubles, five triples and one homerun in 2009. This season, Rye has a .296 batting average in 34 games with eight recorded doubles, two triples and three homeruns.

Corban Joseph

Corban Joseph Infielder Corban Joseph was drafted in the 4th round of the 2008 First Year Player Draft by the New York Yankees out of Franklin, Tennessee. Joseph ended the 2009 season with the Class-A Charleston RiverDogs where he had a .300 batting average in 100 games with 17 doubles, eight triples and four homeruns. This season, Joseph has a .302 batting average in 47 games. He has recorded 13 doubles, one triple and 4 homeruns so far with the Tampa Yankees.

Adam Warren

Adam Warren Pitcher Adam Warren was drafted in the 4th round of the 2009 First Year Player Draft out of the University of North Carolina. Warren played the 2009 short season with the Staten Island Yankees where he was selected as a 2009 Mid-Season All-Star and as Pitcher of the Week twice (7/20/2009, 8/03/2009). Warren has a 6-3 record with a 1.93 ERA in 9 games for the Tampa Yankees.

Hector Noesi

Hector Noesi Pitcher Hector Noesi was recently promoted to Double-A Trenton after eight games with the Tampa Yankees. Noesi had a 5-2 record with a 2.72 ERA in 43 innings pitched before leaving Tampa. Noesi was signed by the New York Yankees as a non-drafted free agent in 2004.
