South Burlington, VT. Two Vermont products, two 6'7" power forwards and a point guard comprise the latest crop of players the Vermont Frost Heaves have added to their roster as the team heads toward tip-off of its inaugural season.
6'6" forward Kerry Lyons, a former star at Milton High School who went on to play and coach at Lyndon State, and 6'4" guard Dana Martin, a Stowe product who was conference player of the year and a 1,500 point scorer at Skidmore before embarking on a pro career in German will join the team for its first year in the ABA.
In addition, the Frost Heaves have signed John Bryant, a former co-captain at St. Joseph's, a starter for the Hawks during their undefeated 2003-04 regular season; Lester Strong, a forward at Division II power Metro State who has been a prolific rebounder and scorer in Australia's professional leagues; and 6'l" Melvin Creddle, a point guard who consistently provided steals, assists, and scoring for Mount Olive (N.C.) college during his two seasons there.
