Rochester, NY - The Rochester Red Wings will host the 21st Annual Challenger Baseball World Series (CBWS) on Saturday, June 15 beginning at 8:00 a.m. at Frontier Field. Red Wings manager Gene Glynn will serve as the CBWS' goodwill ambassador and Red Wings players Dan Rohlfing, James Beresford and Danny Lehmann will be on the field serving as "buddies" to help the participants hit, field and run the bases.

Challenger Baseball, which began in the Rochester area in 1990 in conjunction with Fairport Baseball's Little League program, brings together boys and girls ages 6-18 who are physically and/or mentally challenged. Over 260 players from eight local teams are expected to participate this year bringing the total participation to more than 3,600 kids over the 21-year history of the CBWS.

"We couldn't be more excited to host this fantastic event for the 21st consecutive season dating all the way back to the Silver Stadium days," said Red Wings general manager Dan Mason. "I know our players really enjoy being a part of this event as well. In fact, about a dozen of our guys participated in a Challenger Baseball game prior to a game in Lehigh Valley earlier this season."

The Frontier Field gates will open at 8:00 a.m. for the quadruple-header. Admission to the CBWS is free for all team members, volunteers and fans.

The game schedule is as follows:

8:30 a.m. Fairport vs. Greece

9:30 a.m. Pittsford vs. Penfield

10:30 a.m. Webster Minor League vs. Westside

11:15 a.m. Webster Major League vs. Victor/Finger Lakes
