Fresno FC Places U23s and Ladies Team on Hiatus

Fresno FC News Release
FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno Football Club announced today that the club's Under-23 and Ladies teams will take a hiatus until the club has its own facility. The Under-23s will not compete in USL League Two (formerly Premier Development League), and the Ladies will not take part in the Women's Premier Soccer League in 2019.
"Providing an opportunity to further develop the talent in the San Joaquin Valley is one of the commitments of this club," said Frank Yallop, Fresno FC's General Manager. "However, providing the proper resources while we built ourselves as a franchise in the USL was difficult. To meet the proper demands for the U23s and the Ladies, we have decided to take a hiatus from USL League Two and WPSL competitions so we can reevaluate and best serve local players. We will continue to keep our eyes on athletes that we have identified in the summer months and for the long list of alumni playing collegiate soccer."
The Fresno FC U23s finished the 2018 USL PDL season with a record of 6W-6L-2D under the direction of head coach Andrew Donnery and assistant Jose 'Capi' Delgadillo. Diego Casillas and Alvaro Nogales led the club with four goals apiece and helped the team win its first three games of the season before a fourth-place finish in the nine-team Southwest Division.
The Ladies, who were coached by Tim Carroll, went unbeaten in the regular season at 6W-0L-2D to take the 2018 PacNorth Division title. They went on to reach the WPSL Western Conference semifinals, where they fell 3-0 to FC Tucson Ladies.
The Fresno FC U23s & Ladies teams played its home matches between Fresno State's Soccer & Lacrosse Stadium and Clovis East High School.
"We had a wonderful first-year campaign in our U23s and Ladies seasons and we wish to continue that down the line when we have our own facility. We are working hard to build a home where all the teams of Fresno FC can prosper," Yallop said.
