Cape Cod Frenzy News Release
Hyannis, Massachusetts: The Cape Cod Frenzy hit the road Thursday for a 'four-games-in-four-days' road trip beginning in Rochester, New York. The 6-4 Frenzy, who are 3-2 on the road this season, look to play the role of spoiler this week at the home stands of the Rochester Razorsharks, the Buffalo Silverbacks, and the Vermont Frost Heaves.
Thursday night at 7:00 PM, in a battle of 'sharks', the Frenzy face the ABA Champion Rochester Razorksharks at the 12,000 seat Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, New York. The game will be televised live on Time Warner SportsNet (TWSN) on Rochester local cable channel 26. The 9-4 Razorsharks are looking to break the all time Rochester record for consecutive home court wins. They tied the current record, held by the Rochester Zeniths in 1978-1979, by beating the Maryland Nighthawks 122-112 on Saturday. We'll see which 'shark' is the toughest Thursday night!
On Friday at 7:00 PM, the Frenzy travel from Rochester down Interstate 90 to Buffalo State College to face the Buffalo Silverbacks (5-7). Buffalo had started slow, losing their first four games, but gained steam by beating Rochester for their first win, and eventually getting to a record of 5-5. They are led by former Syracuse forward Kueth Duany, who was a starter with Carmelo Anthony on the SU 2003 NCAA title team, guard Antoine Sims, who scored 51 points against the Boston Frenzy in a game last season, and guard Lamar Castile, who was an ABA All Star last season while with the San Jose Skyrockets. The Silverbacks recently lost two tough games at Detroit, against the division leading Panthers and at Rochester, and look for some 'home cooking' as Frenzy come to town.
On Saturday night at 7:00 PM and on Sunday at 1:00 PM, the Frenzy face their arch rivals: the Vermont Frost Heaves. The Heaves took the first two games from the Frenzy down on Cape Cod back on November 25th and 26th by the scores of 138-121 and 127-94 respectively. The Frenzy were without the services of their leading scorer and rebounder, forward Rob Sanders, who was out with injury. Since those games the Frenzy have also added two new faces to their lineup in addition to getting Sanders back: 6'6 guard Byron Mouton and 6'7 power forward Raheim Lamb. The Frenzy look to come into Barre, Vermont and put a damper on the Frost Heaves' New Year's Eve festivities! The two games against Vermont will be broadcast live on www.audiosportsonline.net.
