Maine Freeze News Release

(PORTLAND, ME) – (PORTLAND, ME) – The Maine Freeze, a member of the National Women's Football Association (NWFA) will kick off season two with a 3-day mini camp beginning Friday, December 13. With an inaugural season record of 0-8, the coaching staff plans to install the basics of offensive and defensive schemes – and have the girls focus on working towards a winning season in 2003.

The camp will consist of a series of alternating chalk and film sessions with five scheduled practice sessions. Head Coach Jason McLeod says the camp will enable the players to monitor their progress and allow coaches to critique any technical flaws. Coach McLeod believes that with a good nucleus of 30 returning players, new talent, some discipline and a strong mental mind, the Freeze should be a fierce competitor in 2003.

The 3-day mini camp is open to the media on Saturday, December 14 and Sunday, December 15. The camp will be held at the Portland Armory from 9a.m. to 6:55p.m. on Saturday, and 10a.m. to 3:35p.m. on Sunday. Additional information to follow at a later date.
