Fort Wayne Freedom News Release
The Fort Wayne Freedom is pleased to announce today the signing of a new three-year lease with the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. The Memorial Coliseum has been home to the Freedom since their inaugural season in 2003. Details of the new lease have not been released.
The Freedom has been attendance leaders the last two seasons. In 2004, they set an attendance record with 10,225 fans for their last regular season home game. The Freedom credits the atmosphere that the Memorial Coliseum creates on game day as one reasons they have success in attendance.
"The Allen Country War Memorial Coliseum is one of the best arenas out there today, " said team owner, Rich Coffey. "We have a great partnership with the Memorial Coliseum and general manager Randy Brown. Our first three years were very successful and we are looking forward to the next three years.
The Freedom will open their 2006 season in March. A 2006 schedule should be released shortly. For more information on the Freedom, log onto their web page at www.fwfreedom.com or call the office at (260) 422-2293.
