Valley Forge Freedom News Release
(OAKS, PA) - The Valley Forge Freedom today announced the signing of a new head coach: Chris Puscian. Puscian takes over immediately from former head coach/player Chris Crutcher.
"I feel that I can best help my team on the ice, I'm excited to only have to focus on playing for the remainder of the season," Crutcher said in a statement to valleyforgefreedom.com today. "It's our goal to make the playoffs and win the inaugural MAHL championship."
Freedom owner Tim Kolpien had this to say of Crutcher, "Chris was handed a very difficult situation, and he deserves a tremendous amount of praise for keeping this team together. There will always be a place for Chris in our organization - he's the heart and soul of the Freedom."
New head coach Chris Puscian was the head coach of the Freedom before the start of the season, but had to step down to due to personal reasons. He returns to the Freedom in full capacity as Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations.
"My goal is to mold this team into a group of winners and great young men who get the chance to play at higher levels of professional hockey," Puscian said. "The fans of Valley Forge can look forward to great, exciting hockey for as long as I'm behind their bench."
Puscian is a native of Marlton, NJ. He joins the Freedom with twelve years of professional hockey experience both playing and coaching in the ECHL, SPHL, German Bundesliege, AHA, IHL, and professional roller hockey (MLRH). His previous coaching experience includes three seasons as the Head Coach of the New York & New Jersey Riot of Major League Roller Hockey (MLRH). In addition, Chris has coaching experience with junior and high school hockey programs. Chris was a goaltender during his playing career and attended the Philadelphia Flyers training camp in 2006. He played college hockey and graduated from Penn State University.
