January 18, 2008 - Mid-Atlantic Hockey League (MAHL)
Valley Forge Freedom News Release
(OAKS, PA) - The Valley Forge Freedom of the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League (MAHL) today announced that they will be broadcasting nine of their final eleven road games via Audio Sports Online (www.audiosportsonline.net), an internet broadcasting company specializing in minor league, college, and high school sports internet broadcasting. The Freedom will be the first team in the MAHL to offer free audio broadcasts to its fans. Games can be heard at http://www.audiosportsonline.net.
"This service is being offered to allow our loyal fans the ability to keep tabs on the Freedom without having to leave the comfort of their homes," Freedom owner Tim Kolpien said. "It's also a great opportunity for the families of players who live far away from Valley Forge to hear their kids play. It's a win-win situation for both the fans and the players!"
The Freedom's Operations Director and Public Relations Director, Jerry Savage, will provide the play-by-play action for all nine games. Before joining the Freedom, he was the play-by-play announcer for the Philadelphia Scorpions of the North American Football League. He was also the host of At The Races: Stateside, a live, televised horse racing program distributed to the United Kingdom and Ireland, and was also a host for PhoneBet TV, a locally produced horse racing information program distributed throughout the Philadelphia region.
"This idea was a brainchild of Jerry's," Kolpien said. "He's earned the right to be the voice for the Freedom and we're proud to have him broadcast these games for the fans. This is a big step for our organization, and I know he'll do a great job!"
"This is an opportunity that I have strived for since the start of the season," Savage said, "and now it's coming true. I can't thank Tim enough for this opportunity, and I can't thank the fans enough for supporting us to get us to this point."
The Freedom's broadcast schedule is as follows:
