PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (April 18, 2005) - The Philadelphia Freedoms announce today their regular season schedule for the 2005 World TeamTennis (WTT) Pro League presented by Advanta. The Freedoms will play seven home matches at Cabrini College in Radnor, including their home opener on July 4 against the St. Louis Aces. All home matches are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. EST. Just as in 2004, tennis legend Patrick Rafter and hometown hero Lisa Raymond lead the charge for the 2005 Freedoms squad. Rafter is scheduled to play 4 matches this season. His only home appearance will be on July 19 when the Freedoms host the Delaware Smash. Two of tennis' past grand slam champions and number #1 players on the ATP and WTA tours respectively, John McEnroe and Martina Hingis, will be making visits to the Freedoms' home court during the WTT season. McEnroe makes his first visit to Cabrini since 2002 on July 12 when the New York Sportimes come to town while Hingis, making her WTA comeback, comes to town on July 5, also playing for the Sportimes.
