Fred Loya High School Baseball Series to be Played at Southwest University Park

EL PASO - March 9, 2015 - The El Paso Chihuahuas and Fred Loya Insurance are giving local high school baseball athletes the opportunity to play on a Triple-A baseball field as part of the Fred Loya High School Baseball Series, with 14 schools participating in its inaugural year.
The Fred Loya High School Baseball Series kicks-off on Tuesday, March 10th at 4 p.m. as Riverside takes on Chapin High School. The series concludes with Riverside vs. Ysleta on Tuesday, April 28th at 7 p.m. All seven games are free and open to the public.
"We are so proud to work with the Loya Family to continue building community relationships together," said Brad Taylor, general manager of the El Paso Chihuahuas. "This series will give area players the chance of a lifetime to play on a top-flight professional field. "
"The El Paso High School Baseball Series is a great way for our young student-athletes to showcase their talent in the most beautiful ballpark in America - Southwest University Park," said Fred Loya Sr., Chairman Emeritus of Fred Loya Insurance Agency, Inc., the title sponsor of the series.

The games not only give high school athletes the chance to have the big-league experience, but also serve as a fundraiser for each team with a portion of each Chihuahuas ticket sold going back to the participating school.
"This is a great opportunity for these young men to get the chance to play at a Minor League baseball park," said Willie Romo, Montwood High School's baseball coach. "It gives the city and surrounding region a chance to come together to support local high school baseball."

Tuesday, March 10 Chapin vs. Riverside 4:00 p.m.
Tuesday, March 24 Americas vs. Montwood 7:00 p.m.
Friday, March 27 Santa Teresa vs. Cathedral 6:30 p.m.
Sunday, March 28 El Dorado vs. Montwood 2:00 p.m.
Thursday, April 2 Franklin vs. Coronado 6:30 p.m.
Saturday, April 18 Bel Aire vs. Del Valle 10:00 a.m.
Tuesday, April 28 Riverside vs. Ysleta 7:00 p.m.
