Four "Original" CHL Teams Celebrate 1000th Game

The Central Hockey League (CHL) is proud to have four member teams on the doorstep of reaching a historic milestone within the next two weeks. The Oklahoma City Blazers, Mississippi RiverKings, Wichita Thunder and Tulsa Oilers will all be playing in their 1000th CHL game over the next 10 days. Each of the four teams started in the CHL during the 1992-93 season and are currently playing in their 16th season.

The Blazers will be the first of the four teams and the first CHL franchise to play in their 1000th game on Friday, December 7th when they host the Amarillo Gorillas. The RiverKings will hit the milestone on Saturday, December 8th versus the Youngstown SteelHounds and both Wichita and Tulsa will play their 1000th game on December 15th when the Thunder hosts the Rocky Mountain Rage and the Oilers host the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs.

Over the course of the upcoming 10 days, www.centralhockeyleague.com will be featuring team profiles of each of the four teams showcasing top players from their organizations over the past 1000 games. The CHL will also announce an All Original Four Team that will be announced on Friday, December 14th which will feature the three best forwards, two best defensemen and top goaltender that has ever played for any of the four 1000-game teams. Fans will have the chance to voice their opinion with several special CHL League Polls that will give fans a chance to cast a vote for the top Blazer, RiverKing, Thunder and Oiler players over the past 16 seasons.
