
Four More Returning Blues Players Added to 2015 Roster

IRVINE, Calif. (January 27, 2015) - Orange County Blues FC is proud to announce that José Miranda, Aaron Perez, Jacob Barron and Brenton Griffiths will return for the 2015 USL PRO season.
Miranda, who also goes by "Pepe," is a 28-year-old goalkeeper from Varadero, Cuba. The "Ëkeeper joined the Blues at the end of August for the remainder of the 2014 season. He appeared in two games during his second spell with the organization. He originally played with the team in 2012, when the club was the Los Angeles Blues. Pepe started his career in the United States when he defected from Cuba while playing for the Cuban National Team in Tampa, Fla., after a 2008 Olympic qualifying match.
Perez, a 28-year-old goalkeeper from San Dimas, Calif., is returning to the club after achieving 32 saves and one shutout in eight appearances for the OC Blues in 2014. He began his professional soccer career in 2013 with the LA Blues before the team moved to Orange County. In the 2013 season, he recorded six saves during four matches for the Blues. A graduate of UCLA, Perez played on the football team during his time in Westwood. The starting punter for the Bruins from 2005-2008, Perez earned both 1st Team All-Pac 10 and 1st Team All-Pac 10 All-Academic honors in 2008 as a senior.
Barron, a 23-year-old midfielder, is a Southern California native who attended UC Davis for two years before transferring to Penn State University in 2011. While playing for UC Davis, the midfielder started in 29 matches, appeared in 37 games and recorded an assist. At Penn State, he notched a goal and an assist and was named All-Big Ten 1st Team in 2012. He joined USL PDL club Ottawa Fury in 2013 and registered a goal. Barron signed with Orange County in July 2014 and appeared in three matches for the club.
Griffiths, another 2014 mid-season signing, is also returning to Irvine. Born in Spanish Town, Jamaica, the 23-year-old defender attended University of South Florida, where he was named All-Big East 3rd Team in 2011. After college, he was drafted 25th overall in the 2013 MLS Supplemental Draft by the Colorado Rapids. Griffiths made his professional debut against the San Jose Earthquakes in a 1-1 draw on May 18, 2013. Griffiths also made appearances with the Under-17 and Under-20 Jamaican National Teams.
