Four Gulls Named 2017 NECBL All-Stars

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Andrew Daschbach, Ty Duvall, KameronMisner, and Kyle Mora have been selected to represent the Newport Gulls and theSouthern Division in the 2017 New England Collegiate Baseball League All-StarGame, as announced by the league office. The game will be hosted by the NorthAdams SteepleCats at Joe Wolfe Field in North Adams, Mass., on Sunday, July30th. Pregame ceremonies begin at 5:10 p.m., with first pitch to follow shortlyafter.

AndrewDaschbach (Stanford) - Third Base

Hitting .303 with five home runs and 16 RBI, Daschbach willbe the starting third baseman for the Southern Division. The Stanford productwas named the NECBL Week 4 Player of the Week for recording a .474 battingaverage (9 for 19) during the seven-day span, while also logging three doubles,a home run, and scoring six runs. At Stanford, he played in 29 games, making 13starts. The Atherton, Calif., native had 11 hits, four doubles, three RBI andfour walks.

Ty Duvall(Vanderbilt) - Catcher

Posting a .278 batting average with 22 hits, three home runsand seven RBI, Duvall has been named the starting catcher for the SouthernDivision. In 26 games played, he has drawn 15 walks, which ranks as thesecond-most on the team. At Vanderbilt, Duvall played in 17 games, making fourstarts. The Lebanon, Ohio native batted .375 (9 for 24) with three doubles, sixRBI and six runs scored.

Kameron Misner(Missouri) - Outfield

Currently holding an NECBL fourth-best batting average at.356, Misner will be starting in the outfield for the Southern Division.Through 31 played games, the Missouri product leads the team in hits (42), homeruns (six), RBI (21), doubles, (12), and walks (20). Named a FreshmanAll-American by Collegiate BaseballNewspaper, Misner hit .282 in 58 starts at Missouri while posting sevenhome runs, 34 RBI and a .360 on-base percentage. The Poplar Bluff, Mo., nativeled Missouri in stolen bases this past season with 17.

Kyle Mora (UCLA) -Relief Pitcher

Having a team-best ERA of 1.55 in 29 innings pitched thisseason for the Gulls, Mora will be a relief pitcher for the Southern Division. Infour starts and six appearances, the right-hander is 2-1, surrendering fiveearned runs, while striking out 28 batters and walking four. At UCLA, Mora madefour appearances, finishing with a 5.40 ERA over 6.2 innings pitched and fourstrikeouts.
