No Octavius Thomas,No Antoine Knighton,No Willie Wilson,No Jarrett Oliver,No Terrance Woodyard and No Shelton Ward.The Anderson Heat team Saturday nite had 4 regular Heat ballplayers by game time.A fifth,a guard was added to overt a cancelled ballgame."Anybody else would have forfeited the ballgame when they seen only four regular Heat ballplayers in pre-game shoot around" states Heat Coach Embry Malone.Knighton,Wilson,Woodyard,Oliver,Thomas had to work other jobs outside of basketball."The issue is that everybody in Atlanta think they can play basketball,but they learn different when I take them out to the NBA summer pro league in July and they get drilled by those West Coast guys states Malone.Jason Stewart is the only Atlanta ballplayer I had in four years, I know who can run and gun with those California boys,but he has to work full-time now says Malone.One of the purposes of minor league pro basketball is to prepare ballplayers for summer pro leagues and summer pro camps.You think kid's here in metro Atlanta would be breaking their necks to get to a gym or team that provide that,in the state of Kentucky were I grew up they would says Coach Embry Malone.
