INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) announced today its Team of the Week. Missouri Comets forward and reigning league MVP Leo Gibson earned his second honors of the season.
On Saturday, the Monrovia, Liberia native helped the Comets earn a hard fought and valuable 7-6 victory over Central Division opponent Chicago Mustangs. His four points off of three assists and one goal were crucial for Missouri to win the series.
MASL TEAM OF THE WEEK - WEEK SIXTEEN
Here is the complete Team of the Week for Week Sixteen of the Major Arena Soccer League: GK - Danny Waltman, Tacoma Stars: Recorded 20 saves on 25 shots faced in Tacoma victory over St. Louis Ambush.
D - Nelson Santana, Ontario Fury: Scored 2 goals and added 3 assists in the Fury's loss to Sonora.
D - Adam West, Tacoma Stars: Scored 1 goal and added 2 assists in win over St. Louis Ambush.
M - Victor Parreiras, Brownsville Barracudas FC: Recorded 3 goals and 1 assist against Atletico Baja.
M - Leo Gibson, Missouri Comets: Scored 1 goal and added 3 assists in victory over the Chicago Mustangs.
F - Adolfo "Bofo" Bautista, Chicago Mustangs: Scored 4 goals and added 1 assists in loss to Missouri Comets.
