Binghamton Senators News Release
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today that forward Darren Kramer has been reassigned by the club's National Hockey League affiliate Ottawa Senators from Binghamton to the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL.
Kramer, 20, has appeared in one game with the B-Sens this season. He made his professional debut on Oct. 21 as the B-Sens defeated the Bears 2-1 at Hershey. Kramer recorded no points, but amassed five penalty minutes.
A native of Peace River, Alta., Kramer served as captain of the Western Hockey League's Spokane Chiefs during the 2011-12 season and established new major junior career highs in goals (22), assists (18) and points (40) while appearing in all but one of 72 regular season contests. In two seasons with the Chiefs, Kramer registered 54 points (30 goals, 24 assists) while amassing 506 penalty minutes.
The 6-1, 199-pound forward ranked second among all WHL players with 200 penalty minutes in 2011-12 after leading the league with a career-high 306 penalty minutes as a rookie in 2010-11.
Kramer was Ottawa's first sixth-round selection, 156th overall, in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
The Binghamton Senators are in action again tonight as they travel to Wilkes-Barre to take on the Penguins. Game time is 7:05 p.m. Fans can listen live on "Binghamton's Classic Hits" BIG 107.5 (WBBI-FM) beginning 15 minutes before game time as Grady Whittenburg, the voice of the B-Sens, hosts the Countdown to Faceoff.
