B-Sens Fall to Pens in Shootout, 1-0

WILKES-BARRE, P.A. - The Binghamton Senators concluded a six game road trip tonight with a stop at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza where they fell to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, 1-0 in a shootout.

Following a scoreless regulation and overtime, the teams traded goals in the first four rounds of the shootout.

Mika Zibanejad and Andre Petersson capitalized on Binghamton's attempts in the second and fourth rounds respectively. Paul Thompson and Trevor Smith found a way to beat B-Sens netminder Robin Lehner in the first and third rounds.

Tom Kuhnhackl scored in the eighth round to give his team a 3-2 edge and seal the victory for the Pens.

Lehner earned second star honors with a 34 save performance through regulation and overtime and went five-for-eight in the shootout. Wilkes-Barre's Jeff Zatkoff ended the night with a total of 32 saves and went six-for-eight in the shootout.

The B-Sens are in action again on Saturday as they welcome the Norfolk Admirals to town for a 7:05 p.m. tilt. Tickets are $19 for side seating and $18 for end seating.
