Fort Worth defeats Sports in 12 innings

The Shreveport Sports kept battling back, but came up short in an 11-10 loss to Ft. Worth in 12 innings Monday at Fair Grounds Field, which started the second half of the Central League season.

The Cats won the game in the 12th when David Keesee hit a two-out triple and Ken Lup followed with a double to drive in the winning run.

Shreveport never led in the game, but tied the contest four different times and left the bases load three times, including the ninth and tenth innings.

The Sports lost an extra inning game for the sixth time this season in six tries and have now lost to Ft. Worth eight times in nine games.

Shreveport and Ft. Worth will meet again Tuesday night at Fair Grounds Field. Game time will be 7:05.
