
Fort Worth Acquires Battle, Waives Wilkins

GREENVILLE, S.C., January 4 - The Fort Worth Flyers have acquired guard Turner Battle from the NBA Development League available player pool and waived forward Anthony Wilkins.
The 2005 Mid-American Conference player of the year as a senior at the University of Buffalo, Battle averaged a team-best 15.5 points and 4.4 assists and paced a Bulls squad that topped the MAC in wins (23) and scoring average (74.6 ppg) as a senior. At 6-3, 190, Battle was a three-time All-MAC selection and a three-time Academic All-MAC selection
Wilkins played in 14 games (nine starts) for Fort Worth, averaging 21.9 minutes, 6.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists.
Battle is expected to be in uniform when Fort Worth (9-5) is host to Albuquerque (8-6) on Friday at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
