Fort Lauderdale Strikers News Release
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Wednesday, February 11, 2015) - The Fort Lauderdale Strikers today announced the signing of seasoned NASL defender Jordan Graye. Per team and league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Graye, 27, comes to Fort Lauderdale after spending the last three years in the NASL with the Carolina RailHawks. The 6-foot-2 defender also brings MLS experience with D.C. United and the Houston Dynamo to the Strikers backline.
"Jordan brings strength, athleticism and versatility to our defense, and his MLS and NASL experience will contribute a lot to our group on and off the field," General Manager Amaury Nunes said.
Graye enjoyed a successful college career at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2005-2009. In Fort Lauderdale, he reunites with former UNC teammate Ryan Adeleye.
The former Tar Heel was drafted by D.C. United in 2010 and went on to play 20 games for his hometown club. After his rookie year, Graye spent one season in Houston before signing with Carolina in 2012. He made 39 league appearances in three years with the RailHawks, featuring mostly at right back.
Graye has been capped by the United States National Team at the U-16 and U-17 levels.
